Set up your computer before your first lesson

You need two free tools. Open each guide, follow the steps, and check the version at the end. You only do this once.

Step 3: Final check

Open a new terminal and run both commands. On our Windows computer the real output was:

> node --version
v22.23.1
> git --version
git version 2.55.0.windows.2

If Node.js shows 22.12 or higher and Git shows 2.28.0 or higher, you are ready.
